Anti-insurgency operations have been intensified along the Assam-Arunachal border after the security forces gunned down four NDFB cadres last Sunday in Arunachal's East Siang district.

Joint operations were being carried out along the inter-state border and in vulnerable pockets of forest areas, where the rebel outfits are reportedly hiding, official sources said.

Besides army commandos, police and paramilitary forces have been deployed in the areas for conducting operations against the militants, sources added.

Top police officials of West Siang and East Siang districts met on Thursday and formulated a joint operation strategy.

Several cadres of anti-talk faction of NDFB and some activists of the Liberation Democratic Council of Misingland (LDCM) are taking safe shelter in the jungles of inter-state border areas, sources said.
