Social activist Anna Hazare Friday criticised the government for ignoring yoga guru Baba Ramdev's deteriorating health and said it should show some humanity.

"The government should look into this matter with a more humane approach. A citizen has a right to protest according to the constitution," Hazare said.

"It is not wrong for people to strike, stage protest and raise their voices against the system in a democracy," he added.

Ramdev, whose fast against corruption continued for the seventh day Friday, was taken from his ashram in Haridwar to Dehradun for a check-up after his health deteriorated.

He Thursday took lemonade and honey at the request of doctors. The yoga guru has been on an indefinite fast since Saturday.

He and his supporters were forced to move out of Delhi's Ramlila Ground early Sunday.
