As Anna Hazare entered Ram Leela Maidan in Delhi in the afternoon on Friday, the fourth day of his fast, the crowds on Ahmedabad roads were jubilant. People had been coming in from various parts of the city and had gathered at the Income Tax (I-T) circle to express their support for Hazare's movement for a Jan Lokpal Bill.

Besides the regulars who had been turning up at the I-T circle every day since Tuesday, there were many new faces in the crowd on Friday. The crowd later dispersed and the people moved away only to gather again at different places. By evening, most of Ahmedabad's roads were filled with groups shouting in support of Hazare.

A group of professionals from 'Jacobs', at Thaltej, had skipped work on Friday to join protestors at I-T circle. "There are around 15-20 of us who have bunked office to support Anna's fight. We will, of course, lose a day's salary but if that can help eradicate corruption, it is a small sacrifice to make," said Nitin Patel, a principal technician.

The day began again with prabhat pheri at 7.30 am. At 11 am, activists and members of UVA Azadi - youth against corruption - took out a small donkey rally in which the slogans, 'remove corrupt leaders' and 'remove corruption' were painted on the animal's body.
By the end of the day, the group at I-T circle had erected an effigy of Raavan with its 10 heads signifying corruption in different government departments. A huge bikers' rally arrived at the circle from Vejalpur at 12 noon. Leading this rally was one Devendra Patel who was blindfolded and riding the bike.

Throughout the day, youngsters, activists and others danced to the tune of patriotic songs. At 5 pm the protestors released tri-colour balloons and took a candlelight protest march in the evening. Candlelight protests were also held at Vastrapur Lake, Meghani Nagar, Odhav and at Ambika Chowk, Sabarmati.

At Sabarmati, there were over 300 people gathered for the candlelight march. A large crowd was also seen forming a human chain from Bhavna Soceity near Tolnaka to Kankaria Gate No. 1 at Pushpakunj. Bharat Vikas Parishad, Kankaria, organised a candlelight protest march in support of Anna's movement at 7:30 pm at Pushpkunj, Gate No. 1, Kankaria.
