Megastar Amitabh Bachchan today sought to steer clear of the controversy over Shiv Sena's 'Mumbai for Marathis' campaign, saying the country's commercial capital was "very healthy" and doing "very well".

"Mumbai is very healthy. It is doing very well," Bachchan said when reporters asked him about the Sena's campaign which has evoked national outcry.

Asked whether he would take any initiative to end the rift between Shiva Sena and superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Bachchan said, "What has it got to do with this here. We are very happy announcing this wonderful programme for the benefit of people
of Kerala."

"We are here to promote this programme. Talk about this programme. I think that we should concentrate on this,"
Bachchan, who was here for the launch of newly formed Resul
Pookutty Foundation, a non-profit organisation.

The foundation has been started Pookutty, who won the Oscar award for sound recording in 'Slumdog Millionaire' and the Padma Shri, to offer medical aid and free surgeries to the needy in Kerala.

Shah Rukh Khan's comments favouring inclusion of Pakistani's cricketers in the Indian Premier League had invited the ire of Shiv Sena.
