The CBI chargesheet has given graphic details of how minister of state for home Amit Shah used his faithful group of policemen— DG Vanzara, Abhay Chudasama and Rajkumar Pandiyan — to hatch a conspiracy to eliminate Sohrabuddin Sheikh.

The charge-sheet says the conspiracy was made after Shah was contacted to get rid of Sohrabuddin who had become a headache for the marble traders in Rajasthan.

According to the chargesheet, Sohrabuddin had become a threat to the marble lobby operating in Rajasamand, Nathdwara, Udaipur and other districts. Sohrabuddin, by killing his rival gangster Hamid Lala, had dominated the extortion business.

Extortion threats by Sohrabuddin to the owners of the RK Marbles, who are politically connected, proved deadly for him. ThePattani brothers, owners of RK Marbles, lodged a complaint against Sohrabuddin in Rajasthan and also approached their political contacts in Rajasthan for help.
