"Don't knock the weather; nine-tenths of the people couldn't start a conversation if it didn't change once in a while," said Kin Hubbard American humorist and cartoonist.

For, Amdavadis the pleasant but dusty weather, which considerably reduced visibility on city roads, continued to give enough fodder for talks. It remained the top most conversation at meetings, offices and even kitlis. No one, however, was heard complaining.

Amdavadis and most of Gujarat woke up to a hazy morning on Tuesday hoping that it would go away as the day progressed. Surprisingly, it did not and the haze continued to stay till late in the evening affecting visibility.

"I don't know what to make of the weather. Earlier it was extremely hot during the day then cold at night and now all of a sudden there is this haze," said Bina Shah, a housewife in Shahibaugh. Shah, however, added that despite the visibility being affected this was far better than facing the March 'heat'.

"I did not expect the weather to be this way for the entire day," said Shah.

Kamaljit Ray, director IMD, Gujarat said the haze is because of the dust particles suspended in the air. "The visibility is less than 1 km. The dust storms in Rajasthan along with the north westerly winds is what has lead to this," said Ray. She said dust storms usually occur in April.

On Monday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 38.4 degree celsius and a minimum temperature of 20.7 degree celsius. The met department has predicted that the haze would continue but with less intensity.
