Former Samajwadi party leader Amar Singh today dismissed speculation of his return to the party, saying he would never forget the insults heaped on him by SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav and his family members.

"Too much is being seen into the TV footage showing me exchanging pleasantries with senior SP leader Mohan Singh outside the Parliament. It is in my nature to treat people with respect and I was making no exception in this case," Singh, a Rajya Sabha MP, told reporters in Allahabad.

He said that he would never forget "how Mulayam Singh Yadav had, after my expulsion from the party, described me as belonging to the past and his declaration that he never looked back on his decisions".

"I do not know how well Yadav remembers his own utterances but I would like to ensure it that he does not ever have to look back on his decision in my case," Singh, who launched non-political outfit 'Lok Manch' after his expulsion from the SP, said.

The former SP general secretary was in the city in connection with a corruption case against him in the Allahabad high court.

"I can not forget that the SP chief's brother Ram Gopal Yadav had attacked me more harshly than my political adversaries, over the false charges levelled against me," he said.

"Even Shashank Shekhar Singh, a close aide of UP chief minister Mayawati, has admitted that the charges levelled against me do not hold much water. But Ram Gopal Yadav thought otherwise," Singh said.

"I am a businessman based in Kolkata and the Calcutta high court has already given me a clean chit in this matter after a thorough investigation," he claimed, adding that he was confident of getting justice from the Allahabad high court as well.
