Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh today alleged that top officials of Mayawati government in Uttar Pradesh have been threatening an Independent MLC Sunil Singh, asking him to vacate his bungalow situated in Lucknow.

The SP general secretary, who introduced the MLC to the media, attacked Mayawati and accused her of using her powers to threaten Sunil Singh.

Amar Singh alleged that the state government has already "acquired" several bungalows on Mall Avenue, Lucknow, and was now eyeing Sunil Singh's bungalow.

Speaking to the media, Sunil Singh alleged that the chief minister through her top officials has been asking him to vacate the bungalow, where he has been staying for the last more than 25 years. He claimed that Mayawati was keen on "merging" his house with that of hers to make it spacious.

Sunil Singh has also filed a writ petition in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, seeking interim relief restraining the state government from acquiring his house.
