"I was raped several times by my father before I came to the police for help," said the 19-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by her own father. The man had earlier spent some time in jail for raping this daughter and was released only some four months ago. On Thursday evening, the teen lodged another complaint of rape against her father with the Sarkhej police.

While talking to DNA, the teen said that since her father had come out of jail, he had continued to torment her. "I had even told my mother about it but she didn't believe me. It was only when she caught him red-handed while abusing me that she finally realised that I was saying the truth," the victim revealed.

Police sources said earlier too the girl had filed a complaint of rape against her father for which he had to spend around 2 years behind bars. "But later he was released by the court as the victim had retracted her statement," said the source. The teen too admitted that on the earlier occasion she had withdrawn her statements against her father. "I withdrew my statements against him because his relatives put severe pressure on me and my mother to do so," said the teen.

Narrating the horrible incident, the teen said that on the day of the incident her father, a labourer returned from work, and when he saw her alone raped her. "I was a prisoner in my home. He would not let me go out of the house. He had been abusing me for the last many months. It was a nightmare to live with him." The victim's mother too said they had earlier withdrawn their statement under pressure from her in-laws and had hoped that the jail term may have mended his ways.

PSI MJ Patel, who is investigating the matter said, the victim has been taken for a medical examination. "We will know more about it only after the test reports come," he said.
