Ahmedabad's 'lady don’ is fond of girls and gambling

She zooms around on a motorbike and prefers to wear a pant and shirt rather than traditional women's wear. A muffler wrapped around her shoulders, she never misses a chance to reprimand anyone who comes in her way. She is also the biggest foe of the family members of her live-in partner Jagruti. Meet Manisha, a woman living with her female companion in Kubernagar.

"If she is not a recognised don, then she is neither less than a don, as she is into all sorts of illegal activities and is always ready to have a fight," Jagruti's relatives told DNA. The couple lives in one room in Kubernagar area. So close are their relations that Jagruti even refuses to recognise her own family members.

Talking to DNA, a relative of Jagruti said that Manisha lived as a paying guest with them for some time and during that period she and Manisha came close to one another. They have been living together ever since they 'eloped' in December.

Jagruti has even refused to identify her relatives and does not want to return to her father's house, added her relatives, who do not want to be named. They stated that Manisha is the male in the partnership and is also into unlawful practices. "She is fond of girls, gambling and bootlegging," the relatives say.

Manisha was never comfortable living with her husband and kids and left them a few years back. "She had been trying to induce different girls of the area to live with her, but no one fell into her trap - until Jagruti came her way," the relative said. (Names have been changed to protect identity)
