Ahmedabad municipal transport bus catches fire

On Monday evening, a CNG-run AMTS bus caught fire near Karnavati club on SG Highway, causing panic and traffic jam on the busy road for almost half an hour.

At 7:15 pm, the bus (route no. 501) reached near Karnavati club, Vaghela and conductor Bhanu Solanki learned about smoke inside the bus after which they parked the bus. They learned that the engine was on fire. Vaghela evacuated all the passengers before calling the fire officials. Fire officials doused the fire in 45 minutes.
