Ahmedabad doctors to set up libraries in hospitals

To support and enhance the cause of Vanche Gujarat a group of six doctors have established a chain of libraries called 'Granth Mandir.'

To support and enhance the cause of Vanche Gujarat, one of the
initiatives of the state government to celebrate 50 years of the foundation of the state, a group of six doctors have established a chain of libraries called 'Granth Mandir.' The chain will cover 91 dispensaries and 9 hospitals across state.

This network will be inaugurated by chief minister Narendra Modi
in January.

The team of Dr. Megha Shah, Dr. Neha Trivedi, Dr. Neha Shukla, Dr. Bela Patel, Dr. Rajesh Dave, and Dr. Jignesh Belani is behind this project.

Dr. Megha Shah, one of the founders of the network, said, "Each of these libraries will contain more than 500 books, magazines, newspapers, etc. in Gujarati, Hindi and English languages."
These libraries will have books on a host of subjects.

"There will be books on literature, self development and motivation, Children's literature, medicine, paramedical journals etc in these libraries," said Dr Shah.

The main beneficiaries of this library network will be patients, their family members, and hospital staff at about 100 places and cover about 5 lakh readers.
