A wall to honor Indian Laureates at Rajiv Chowk Delhi metro

To honour the Nobel Laureates from India and make the youth aware of their contribution to society, a 'Nobel Memorial Wall' was today thrown open to for Delhi metro users at Rajiv Chowk station.

The Wall has portraits of the seven Nobel Laureates from India, Rabindranath Tagore, C V Raman, Hargobind Khorana, Mother Teresa, Subramanyam Chandrasekhar, Amartya Sen and Venkatraman Ramakrishnan with details about their contribution to society.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the Embassy of Sweden jointly inaugurated 'The Nobel Memorial Wall' today where Indian Nobel prize winners are being honoured as part of the fifth edition of the Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Week.

E Sreedharan, Managing Director of DMRC, and Ame Kallin, Charge d'Affarires, Embassy of Sweden, jointly unveiled the Wall for metro users. "It is a matter of pride for us to host the Nobel Memorial Wall with the Embassy of Sweden to honour our Nobel Laureates. The contributions of our Nobel Laureates have given India recognition all over the world.

"The Nobel Wall on the Delhi Metro is a unique way to honour them. It also gives an opportunity to our youth to know about our Nobel Laureates while they are on the move," Sreedharan said. He said a similar wall has also been built at the HUDA City Centre metro station.
