A fun trip to Kerala's popular tourist spot Thekkady turned tragic for a nine-year-old Delhi girl who ended up identifying bodies of her relatives who met their watery grave there.
       
Nidhi was part of a ten-member picnic group of two families from west Delhi's Paschim Vihar who were in the ill-fated boat that capsized in the famous Thekkady Lake yeaterday.

Though four members of her group survived, six were among those who died in the mishap.

Pradeep Jain, an official of a pharmaceutical company, his wife Sandhya and daughter Shruti died in the incident while Shruti's husband Baladutt and Nidhi survived the incident.
 
Their neighbours Vimla Jain, Sangeeta Sharma and Partha Sharma (19) also died in the incident, an official said.

"It was Nidhi who identified these bodies," an official said.

The families were staying in Orchard End Hotel near Thekkady.
 
Thirty nine people died when the boat capsized last evening in Thekkady Lake in Idukki district while 40 were rescued, officials said.
