The Assam government today announced an 8% hike in dearness allowance for its employees for which it has to spend Rs700 crore.
The hike will be implemented with retrospective effect from January one, 2010, chief minister Tarun Gogoi told a press conference in Guwahati.
The employees will not get dearness allowance at the rate of 35%.
