Ahmedabad once again witnessed a record rise in temperature on Saturday when maximum temperature rose to 43 degree Celsius.
With this, the maximum temperature surpassed the 42.5 degree Celsius level (recorded on March 18) that was the highest ever registered by Ahmedabad in the month of March during the last decade.

On Saturday, moderate to severe heat wave conditions prevailed across the state and day temperatures rose appreciably in parts of coastal Saurashtra.

The heat wave conditions, which struck the state on March 17, had aggravated later taking the city's temperature to its all time high of 42.5 degree Celsius on March 18. The other five 'hot spots' in Gujarat — Dessa, Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat and Bhuj — had also crossed the 42 degree Celsius mark.

On Saturday, Idar saw the highest maximum temperature of 43.6 degree Celsius.

Earlier on Friday, the place had seen the temperatures touch the 43.9 degree Celsius level followed by Deesa at 43.8 degree Celsius.

India Meteorological Department, Ahmedabad forecasts that moderate to severe heat wave conditions will continue to prevail in most parts of the state during the next two days.

Maximum temperature for Ahmedabad on March 21 will be around 43 degree Celsius and minimum will be around 23 degree Celsius.
