3 injured in explosion at chemical firm in Gujarat

Three labourers sustained injuries after a reactor exploded at a chemical firm located at the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) area in Vapi today, police said.

The incident occurred when a reactor at the production unit of Aarti Chemicals developed a snag and exploded, they said.

Fire brigade officials, who rushed to the spot, brought the inferno under control and rescued the injured from the site, police said.

A complaint has been registered in this regard and further investigations are underway, they said.
