The drawing subject question paper in the 2010 HSC examination conducted by the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) was a repeat of the one in 2007.
The 2010 question paper did not even have minor changes and this has raised eyebrows in education circles. However, according to board officials there is nothing wrong in repeating a question paper as a surprise element.
But, sources aware of GSHSEB's functioning said that a teacher, who had set the paper, was punished in 2005-06 for a similar kind of offense.
One art teacher from a reputed school said, "It is ok, if some of the questions are repeated but to repeat the entire paper does not serve any purpose." Hasmukh Adhia, principal secretary, state education department and chairman of GSHSEB said, "There is nothing wrong in repeating a paper. There is no harm in it. It is not an issue.
