Nearly 200 quintals of explosives were seized from Bihar's Rohtas district today as the special drive which began last month continued in the state to recover illegal arms and ammunition, officials said.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided two houses belonging to Harikishun Sharma and Ramswarth Mahato in Bansa village and seized ammonium nitrate (explosive) concealed in 400 gunny sacks, they said.
Both Sharma and Mahato fled from the spot.
The explosives were allegedly meant to be supplied to the Maoists in the Naxal-hit district of Rohtas, they said.
