2 die, bus set ablaze in Guwahati

At least two persons were killed and 13 others injured in two separate accidents in the city while one car involved in the mishap was set ablaze by the irate public today.

Police said two pedestrians were crushed to death and one was injured when a speeding vehicle hit them at the Bhutnath area of the city.

The driver, who tried to flee, was nabbed by the mob and severely beaten up.

The mob blocked the busy Maligaon-Fancy bazaar road for nearly two hours after the incident.

In another incident, a passenger bus lost control and hit the divider at the Kahanapara area of the city bordering
Meghalaya.

Twelve persons were injured in the incident and they have been admitted to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital.
