Raikhad witnessed communal tension on Thursday night over a minor dispute.

Police fired three teargas shells to disburse the crowd and arrested 17 people belonging to two communities on Friday.

According to police, on Thursday midnight, a spat ensued when a person in a group sitting at a roadside corner shop, began smoking.

The others objected and soon the dispute turned communal. Members from both the community began pelting stones at each other and cops had to be called to control the situation. Police lobbed tear gas shells to disburse the crowd.
Zakir Hussain (30), a resident of Jamalpur has filed a complaint with the Gaikwad Haweli police station as the crowd damaged his car and other property.

Vastrapur vehicle theft
Vastrapur police on Friday arrested two youth for stealing vehicles. The two worked near Mansi towers as domestic help and used duplicate keys to steal two-wheelers.

They later sold them in Rajasthan villages. According to Vastrapur police, Mahesh Dinor and Tarachand alias Teju Dinor stole vehicles and sold them in Rajasthan. They worked as domestic help in houses near Mansi Tower.

"While working there, they used to keep a watch on vehicles and then given a chance would steal them with a duplicate key. They would then take the vehicles to Rajasthan and sell it for a song," said a source in Vastrapur police.

During interrogation the two confessed to stealing a Kinetic. Police suspect that they could be behind many of the two-wheeler thefts in the city. Both are residents of Khedvasi Village in Dungarpur district in Rajasthan. The two live in Bharwadvas in Vastrapur in a rented house. 

1 killed for parking space
A fight between two men over parking space turned deadly when one of them killed the other.

In a case registered with Chandkheda police station, the two neighbours had a fight over parking issue and one of then hit the other with a rod. The injured person was rushed to the hospital were he died on Friday.

According to police, some days ago the sons of Himant Pargi and Deepak Kapadia had a fight. To avenge the insult, Deepak and his father Rasik stopped Pargi, who was on a bike and began arguing with him. Deepak then got hold of a rod and hit Pargi on the head. Pargi suffered severe injuries and was rushed to a private hospital, where he died on Friday morning.

The Chandkheda police have registered a murder case against the Kapadias.
