15 peacocks found dead in Rajasthan

Special teams have been deployed in forest areas of the district to protect the birds, said the district forest officer.

As many as fifteen peacocks have been found dead in Kharuna village here, a forest official said today.

The birds are suspected to be poisoned and the exact reason of the deaths will be known after post-mortem, district forest Officer Vijay N said.

On March 2, 15 birds were found dead in Hindoli sub division while three died the next day in Talwar village. 13 peacocks were found dead on Mar 16 in Ajate village and three on Mar 23 in Arneta village.

Special teams have been deployed in forest areas of the district to protect the birds, said the district forest officer.
