13 illegal colonies regularised in Jammu: J&K govt

The Jammu Development Authority has regularised 13 illegal colonies set up in and around Jammu city, deputy chief minister Tara Chand said in a written reply to a question of BJP MLA Chaman Lal Singh.

Jammu Development Authority has regularised 13 of the 15 illegal colonies found in the city, the state government said today.

The JDA has regularised 13 illegal colonies set up in and around Jammu city, deputy chief minister Tara Chand said in a written reply to a question of BJP MLA Chaman Lal Singh.

He noted 15 colonies were found illegal and JDA has invited applications for regularisation of these settlements.

In response to the JDA's notice for regularisation, 2790 families were found eligible for benefits.

Revenue staff of JDA verified these applications on spot and accordingly site plans of 11 proposed colonies were prepared. The work is on to prepare site plan for 4 remaining colonies.

After the completion of site plan of all the 15 colonies, the cases will be submitted to the committee constituted for the purpose headed by the divisional commissioner, Jammu.
