12 victims of 1984 Sikh riots compensated in Orissa

Twelve Sikh victims of the 1984 riots received compensation of Rs7,90,900 from the district administration in Rourkela, Orissa, yesterday.

The amount was distributed in a function held last night. The Rourkela district administration has so far distributed a
total compensation of Rs30,81,900 in phases to
affected Sikhs in and around the city, official sources said.

The remaining victims will be compensated after their
cases are finalised by the administration.
