12 students, two policemen injured in Tripura college clash

An altercation broke out between Students Federation of India and National Students' Union of India members over the distribution of admission forms.

Twelve students and two police personnel were injured in a clash between Students
Federation of India (SFI) and National Students' Union of India (NSUI) members at Bir Bikram Evening College in Tripura today, prompting the police to burst tear gas shells.

Of the 12 injured students, eight were admitted to Agartala Government Medical College and others were given the first aid, police said. Of the eight hospitalised, six were from NSUI and two from SFI.

Two police personnel were also injured, and taken to the hospital.

The clashes started in the college compound following an altercation between the two sides over the distribution of admission forms.
