11 arrested in Kashmir with 3 kg cannabis

Eleven persons belonging to a narcotic gang have been arrested, and 3 kg of cannabis was recovered from them in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided a house last night and arrested two members of the gang, identified as Showkat Ali and Nayaz Ahmed, in Assar area of the district, 140 km from here, they said, adding three kilograms of hemp was also recovered from them.

Following their interrogation, nine other members of the gang were arrested.

The gang allegedly used to smuggle the substance from Kashmir and Doda to Delhi and Mumbai.
