According to Sai Seva Trust estimates, more than 10 lakh devotees are expected to pay homage to Baba till Tuesday evening 6pm.

The mortal remains of Sathya Sai Baba will be available for devotees to have a last glimpse till Tuesday evening. Puttaparthi, the headquarters of Sathya Sai, will be cordoned off as part of preparation for performing the last rites.

According to sources, more than 300 VIPs including politicians, businessmen and sportsmen are expected to throng Puttaparthi by Tuesday afternoon. Prime minister Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi are expected to arrive at Puttaparthi by 4 pm on Tuesday. The darshan will be closed after the prime minister’s visit.

Lakhs of devotees of Sathya Sai Baba have started reaching Prashanti Nilayam in Puttaparthi to have Sathya Sai’s last glimpse. The number of VIPs and people from various parts of the world outnumbered locals in Puttaparthi on Monday. According to N Raghuveera Reddy, a minister in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet, about one lakh devotees paid their respects to Sathya Sai Baba till Monday afternoon.

Meanwhile, information minister Geetha Reddy and district authorities declared that Sathya Sai Baba's mortal remains would be buried in the Sai Kulwant Hall where his body has been kept for darshan.
