10 injured as Dalits & Patels clash

A clash between Dalits and Patels in Chosar village, Dascroi taluka on Monday left 10 people injured, including three who were hospitalised with severe wounds.

Police have registered two complaints against both the parties. A Dalit deputy sarpanch of Gram Panchayat was also injured in the brawl.

Three grievously injured were identified as Babu Gohil, Aruna Solanki and Devji Solanki currently admitted in LG Hospital.

According to sources in the police, a group of Patels attacked two Dalit youths outside the village to avenge a clash between the clans that took place on January 20. Dalits attacked a group of Patels in return. A complaint in the matter was filed by Patels against Dalits.

Cops have arrested six people for the assault, including four Patels and two Dalits.
