Father of the boy, who allegedly died in police custody in Katoratal police chawki, today demanded the arrest of three suspended policemen, accusing them of murdering his son.

IG (Law and Order) Dipam Seth has recommended a CB-CID probe into the case while investigating officer Bipin Chandra of Nainital district police claimed having gathered evidence, which are being examined.

But the kin of the youth expressed dissatisfaction over the probe by the police and accused it of overlooking many facts related to the case.

Chandra said Ziauddin was not 16-year-old but around 19.

However, legal experts feel this fact does not lessen the seriousness of a youth's death in police custody.

Ziauddin's father Mohammad Yamin demanded the arrest of the three constables who were on duty at Katoratal police chawki in Udhamsingh Nagar district when the incident took place, saying their suspension was not enough.

He also questioned why the post mortem report of Ziauddin was not being disclosed.

Alleging that police chawki were Ziauddin died did not have a lock up, he said even forensic experts were not called where the boy was found hanging.

Insisting that there was no reason. Why his son would commit suicide he said several questions remain unanswered.

"How did the boy reach a height of 12-feet to tie the rope with the hook of a fan before hanging himself? Why would he commit suicide when he was normal when his uncle visited Katoratal to meet him?" Yamin asked.
