Asked by reporters how he would rate the NDA government's performance during first year in office, the Congress leader had said, "If we talk of farmers and labourers, I will give zero out of 10 (to Modi government). (But) if some industrialists and corporate houses are concerned, I will give 10 out of 10." He was interacting with reporters at Haidergarh in Barabanki district en route to Amethi.
Hitting out at Modi, Gandhi had said he was visiting foreign countries but not the homes of farmers in the country.
However, three ministers, Smriti Irani, Harsimrat Kaur and Jitendra Singh, and two party spokespersons assailed Gandhi and unleashed an attack on the Prime Minister, saying he should visit the homes of distressed farmers many of whom have committed suicide.
They said he had forgotten his constituency Amethi for the last 10 years and was even ignorant about the cancellation of the food park project, which happened in 2014 for which he is blaming the Centre.
