Promising to invest more in Uttar Pradesh, the Essel Group Chairman Subhash Chandra on Sunday announced that his group of companies will work as an aggregator with the Yogi Adityanath government in the state to speed up industrial development to create about 1.30 lakh jobs.

Addressing at the mega ground-breaking ceremony in Lucknow, the Essel Group Chairman announced that his company was working with the UP government on a project to double the income of the e-rickshaw owners by changing their lead battery with Lithium batteries.

“The plight of e-rickshaw owners is that they end up earning paltry Rs 300 to 400 when lead batteries of their vehicles are dried up. It takes about 10 hours to charge the lead battery again.  We have come up with a solution to replace lead batteries with Lithium batteries, which takes only an hour to recharge,” revealed the Rajya Sabha MP.

“It will be not only cost-effective but also double the income of e-rickshaw owners and also help keep environment clean,” pointed he. The Chairman claimed that in the first phase, his company will replace lead batteries with Lithium batteries in about 25,000 e-rickshaws and 25000 auto rickshaws will also be turned into electronic rickshaws to bring down their production and running cost.

The Rajya Sabha MP also promised to invest more in Uttar Pradesh in next five years to create about 1.30 lakh jobs.

The Essel group Chairman Subhash Chandra donated two electric buses to the UP government. Under Essel Group-sponsored pilot project to check air pollution and keep environment clean, these two buses will ply between Lucknow and Kanpur and Agra to Delhi routes. The buses were flagged off by the Chief Minister Yogi Aditiyanath at a function on Sunday evening in the presence of Chandra and others.

The UP government has already announced to launch about 100 e-buses in Lucknow and Ghaziabad, the two most polluted cities. On the occasion, the Chief Minister lauded the gesture and commitment of the Essel Group towards green fuel and clean environment.

Chandra said that many more e-buses would be launched in different cities of Uttar Pradesh once the pilot was successful.
