Releasing its fourth list of 'fake babas', the All-India Akhara Parishad blacklisted Yogi Satyam of Jhunsi in Allahabad after holding a meeting of Parishad in Allahabad on Monday.

Parishad head Mahant Narendra Giri said Yogi Satyam did not qualify to be an authentic sadhu on the parameters set by the Akhara Parishad and thus included into its fake baba list. "These fake babas should be stripped of all fake titles they hold and should not be allowed to don saffron clothes," said Giri.

Earlier, the Akhara Parishad had released its first list of 14 fake babas in September last year naming Asaram Bapu, his son Narayan Sai, Gurmeet Ram Rahim, Sachchidanand Giri, Radhey Maa, Nirmal Baba, Asimanand, Ichchadhari Bhimanand, Rampal, Brahsapati Giri, Acharya Kushmuni and Malkhan Singh as self-styled fake babas.

Virendra Dev Dikshit, Sacchidananad Saraswati, Trikal Bhavants and Falhari Baba were blacklisted as fake babas in its second list. The third list contained the names of Swami Chakrapani Maharaj, the self-styled national president of the All-India Hindu Mahasabha and Acharya Pramod Krishnam who owes his allegiance to the Congress. Irked by the Akahar Parishad action, Swami Chakrapani Maharaj had sent a legal notice to the Parishad for terming him as a fake baba.

Mahant Mahenrda Giri said these fake babas have already been stripped of titles they hold and they will not be allowed to participate in 2019 Kumbh mela. He also cautioned people of the country to keep a distance from these fake babas.

During the meeting at Prayag on Monday, the Akhara Parishad also reviewed the progress in preparations for the 2019 Kumbh. "The work is slow and not up to the satisfaction of Akhara Parishad. We will take up the issue with the Chief Minister, if needed," he said.
