Yogi Cabinet: No encroachment in name of temples, mazaars

Those encroaching public places and government lands by constructing temples and mazaars may better beware. The Yogi Adityanath government on Tuesday announced to constitute a task force to remove all such illegal encroachments in the name of religion.

Briefing mediapersons after the fourth meeting of the Yogi Cabinet, Spokesperson Srikant Sharma said that the government has decided to constitute an Anti-Land Mafia Task Force to remove all illegal encroachments from the public places and government lands across the state.

"Encroachments in the name of religion will not be tolerated anymore. The four-layered task force has been directed to identify all such properties and make them free from illegal encroachers within two months," Sharma said.
Besides the task force, the police of that area will also be held responsible. The government has also launched a portal www.jansunwai.com for the people of the state to lodge complaints in this regard.

The Cabinet also cleared Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath decision to cancel holidays on jayantis and death anniversaries of political leaders and eminent personalities. "The Cabinet has cancelled 15 such holidays in schools and government offices," said Sharma.

Regular teaching would be done on these days with one-hour remembrance in any form. The government offices will also work as usual.

The Yogi government also paid tribute to the CRPF men who were killed in naxal attack in Sukma. The government has announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh each to two slain CRPF men who belonged to Uttar Pradesh.
