Yogi Adityanth-led BJP government in Uttar Pradesh has signed an agreement with the BECIL (Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Limited) to set up a social media hub at the CM Secretariat.
The main aim of the social media hub is to increase interaction with the people of the state and take government's policies and programs with the public. "The social media hub will act two ways. People can also lodge their complaints through the platform for quick redressal," said AK Jha, Director Information.
Reaching out people in the largest-populated state of country is a major problem and the hub will establish contact with anyone having a mobile. "We have developed the software keeping in mind the state's huge population and mobile users. We will also enter into agreements with all telecom service providers to reach to maximum people of the state," said a BECIL official.
BECIL is a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to promote Digital India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream dream project. The BECIL Deputy Managing Directir Ramit Lala said that they have already appointed a senior officer to man the Social Media hub at the CM Secretariat.
