Ayodhya is all decked up for a grand homecoming of her favourite son Lord Ram on Diwali.

The legend of Ram returning to his birth town after victory over demon king Ravana will be recreated today in the famous temple town in Uttar Pradesh today.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is in Ayodhya to take part in the grand Diwali celebrations.

The Deepotsav includes an attempt to make a World Record. As part of Chief Minister Yogi Adiyanath's grand plans, 1.71 lakh earthen diyas will be lit up in Ayodhya's Saryu ghat.

A special welcome gate is being made at Saadatganj area, which joins Ayodhya and Faizabad, with 201 quintals of flowers and lights to welcome the Ram Baraat which will be accompanied with ten 'raths', including one in which Lord Ram, Laxman and Sita would be sitting.

The event also includes a 22-minute laser show that will beam the crucial part of Ramayana.

Just like the legend, Pushpak Viman will flying down to Ayodhya. A chopper has been transformed into the aircraft. Ram-Sita will arrive at the venue in it.

The event will be telecast live through 25 LED screens installed at every nook and corner of Ayodhya.

 

Over 2,000 students of Faizabad's RML Awadh University are reportedly volunteering for the event. Over 10,000 temples across the city have been decorated.

Earlier, UP Governor Ram Naik had said that the years of neglect faced by Ayodhya would go this year.

He said the celebrations on Diwali are intended to promote Ayodhya as a tourist place.

Talking about CM Yogi's grand plans, Naik said that this is an attempt to restore Ayodhya's lost glory and present it beautifully.
