Yogi Adityanath, Manohar Parrikar & Keshav Maurya likely to remain MPs till President polls: Report

Three Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs —​ Manohar Parrikar, Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Prasad Maurya are likely to remain as Member of Parliament (MP) until the presidential polls slated for July, reported Times of India.

Three Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs —​ Manohar Parrikar, Yogi Adityanath and Keshav Prasad Maurya are likely to remain as Member of Parliament (MP) until the presidential polls slated for July, reported Times of India.

Last week, Parrkiar who is a Rajya Sabha MP from UP, took over as Goa CM​. Adityanath and Maurya who are Lok Sabha MPs from Gorakhpur and Phulpur, were sworn in as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively.

The presidential polls are scheduled for July and these leaders will require to be elected within six months of their appointment, which will be due in September this year while, said report.

"They will have to be elected from either House in the state within six months and they will have to resign from LS or RS within 14 days of their election. There is no hurry ... we have more serious issues than going for bypolls at this juncture," a senior BJP member told the daily.

Meanwhile, Fateh Bahadur Singh, son of former UP CM Veer Bahadur Singh, has offered to vacate his Campierganj seat near Gorakhpur for Yogi.
