Yogi Adityanath denies his deputies crucial Home, Finance departments

The crucial Finance ministry has been allocated to Rajesh Agarwal, a six-time MLA and former deputy speaker of UP Assembly.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mahant Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday kept the crucial Home portfolio with him while allocating portfolios to his 46-member Cabinet. He also kept with him major portfolios of Vigilance, and Mining, apart from other three dozen departments.

The crucial Finance ministry has been allocated to Rajesh Agarwal, a six-time MLA and former deputy speaker of UP Assembly.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who has been vying for the Home portfolio, has been allotted PWD, Food and Processing, Entertainment and Public Enterprises. Maurya is also the state BJP president and is yet to relinquish the post.

Dinesh Sharma, another Deputy Chief Minister and a Profesor in Commerce faculty of Lucknow University, has been entrusted with the ministries of Higher and Secondary Education, Science and Information Technology and Electronics.

Mohsin Raza, the only Muslim face in the Saffron Cabinet, has been made Minister of State for Haj, Waqf, Science and Information Technology. Baldev Aulakh, a Sikh and another minority face has been made Minister of State for Minority Welfare and Irrigation.

Former Test player and now a Cabinet minister, Chetan Chauhan has been entrusted with the departments of Sports and Youth Welfare and Skill Development, a favourite department of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Former BJP Legislature Party Leader Suresh Khanna has been given the responsibility to look after the Parliamentary Affairs, Urban and Integrated Development ministries while the Congress turncoat Rita Bahuguna Joshi has been made Tourism, Women and Family Welfare minister.

Once close associate of Mayawati and now a Cabinet minister, Swami Prasad Maurya has been made Cabinet Minister for Labour, Employment and Poverty Alleviation while Satish Mahana has been made Cabinet minister for Industrial Development. Srikant Sharma is made Cabinet minister for Energy.

Siddharth Nath Singh will be minister for Medical and Health and Brajesh Pathak will be Cabinet minister of Law and Political Pension. Ashutoash Tandon has been entrusted with Technical and Medical Education. The first-timer, Swati Singh, has been made Minister of State with Independent Charge for NRI, Flood Control, Agriculture Export, Women, Family and Child Welfare.
