A 26-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her in-laws over dowry demand at Khampur village in the district, police said today.

In the district of Khampur village, Uttar Pradesh, a 26-year-old woman was allegedly strangulated to death by her in-laws over dowry demand, police notified the press on June 19.
The complaint which was lodged by the woman's father Umadutt Sharma, stated that the victim got married in March last year and was being harassed by her in-laws for dowry.
The woman was allegedly strangulated to death a day before on June 18. as she failed to fulfil their demands, they said.
The case has been registered against the woman's husband Pankaj, father-in-law Ved Prakash, brother-in-law Monu, and the three have been arrested, stated the police.
The further added that the investigation is on and the woman's body has been sent for post-mortem.
