Woman shot dead by chain snatchers in Jamshedpur

A woman was shot dead by allegedly by unidentified chain snatchers in Kadma-Sonari link, Jamshedpur​ on Saturday.​

40-year-old Nazreen Parvez, a resident of Dhatkidih, was on her morning walk with a friend when two motorcycle-borne miscreants made a futile attempt to snatch her gold chain, Karthik S Superintendent of Police said.

According to police, Parvez caught hold of one of the men and screamed for help. In an attempt to free himself, the miscreant opened fire, injuring Parvez critically. Parvez was immediately rushed to Tata Main Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Police have conducted three massive raids around the city to apprehend the culprits, who managed to escape after committing the crime.
