A 38-year-old woman sustained severe injuries today after two bike-borne men ended up puling her out of an autorickshaw while snatching her purse, a few metres away from the Delhi Police headquarters.

The incident took place around 11.30 AM when Tanuja Malhotra was on her way to work in the autorickshaw, police said.

When she reached the Ring Road, a few metres away from Delhi Police headquarters at ITO, the two men on the motorcycle came and tried to snatch her purse, they said, adding as she resisted, they pulled the strap of the purse harder.

The woman was thrown out of the autorickshaw with a jolt while the accused fled with her purse containing Rs 1,500, two cellphones and some other items.

She was rushed to a hospital where she is currently recuperating.

Her husband alleged that she has fractured her hand and suffered injuries on her face.
