In an another incident of discrimination, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly denied a flat in Mumbai for being Muslim.

Misbah Quadri was about to move in a 3-BHK apartment in Wadala, but she was denied the flat for being a Muslim, reported ANI.

Quadri claims that she was warned by the broker that the housing society did not accept Muslim tenants. The broker reportedly told her that the builder, the owner and the broker 'would not be legally responsible' if she faced any harassment from neighbours because of her religion, and she would have to sign a "no-objection certificate" declaring this.

Quadri reportedly told the broker that if he wanted, certain living conditions could be laid down, but the broker refused to listen.

This incident comes in the backdrop of reports of a youth being allegedly denied a job in Mumbai because of his religion.

Zishan Khan (22) had to reportedly face religious bias when his application to Hari Krishna Export Pvt Ltd was turned down. Khan, who lives in Kurla, had applied for a job, along with his friends, after completing his final semester exams on May 12.
