She was strangled to death with her duppata (scarf) by more than one person in the abandoned building located in Baba Deep Singh Colony falling in Nangli village on the Fatehgarh Churian road, Sidhu said, adding that her parents recognised the body. The victim was a resident of Verka locality in Amritsar.

She was living with her parents due to dispute with her husband for the last few months. Her body was first noticed by children of the area when they went inside the building to play and raised alarm, police said.
