Woman dies after RPF constables throw her out of moving train near Varanasi

 A 25-year old woman, Rita, died after Railway Protection Force (RPF) constables threw her out of a moving train near Varanasi.

A native of West Bengal, Rita, who was travelling to Kanpur along with her 18-month old daughter, brother and an uncle, died while undergoing a treatment at a government-run hospital here.

The incident took place at around 9.30 pm. The victim's brother was also injured.

"After coming to Varanasi, a police officer asked for money. We gave him 50 rupees. After that, another man came who argued with us and started beating our child. He took 3,500 rupees from us and threw the girl out of the moving train," said Rita's uncle, Manik Pal.

A search is on for the constables who fled from the scene when the train stopped at another station.

Meanwhile, Circle Officer, Government Railway Police, O.P Singh, said the constables, if found guilty, would be booked under the law.

"If during the interrogation, a case of bribery or buffet comes to our notice, a case will be registered accordingly. Whoever is responsible for this, will not be spared and booked under laws. As it is told that it was RPF personnel, appropriate action will be taken against them if found guilty," said Singh.

Reportedly, when Circle Officer of Government Railway Police Allahabad visited the hospital with two RPF officials to further investigate the matter, the officials reportedly asked irrelevant questions from Pal and Rita's brother to confuse them.
