Woman burnt to death by husband, in-laws for dowry

A 22-year-old woman was allegedly burnt to death by her husband and in-laws for dowry here, police said today.

The woman's father in his complaint said his son-in-law informed him over phone yesterday that his daughter had burnt herself, they said.

He alleged that his daughter's husband and in-laws were pressuring her for dowry soon after her marriage, police said.

The woman succumbed to her injuries last night at a hospital here, they said, adding the matter is being investigated.

The accused have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC, police said.
