Will ensure Narendra Modi loses from Varanasi: Samajwadi Party

Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal on Sunday forecasted a huge defeat for Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in the coming general elections from Varanasi.

"BJP cannot help Narendra Modi win from Varanasi as its candidate as Uttar Pradesh (U.P) never accepts an outsider as its representative. Gujarat can at best produce a businessman but not a leader. I can assure you that BJP will face a severe defeat in Varanasi," Agarwal said.

It is SP and Mulayam Singh Yadav which will ensure that BJP and Modi is defeated in the coming Lok Sabha elections. Our party has taken the pledge to fight the communal forces and keep them at bay," SP leader added.

On Saturday, the BJP finalized constituencies for senior party leaders including its prime ministerial candidate (Narendra Modi). The party has fielded Modi from Varanasi, which was earlier represented by senior leader Murli Manohar Joshi.
