Wife's words realised as UP mafioso dead

A notorious mafia don, Prem Prakash Singh alias Munna Bajrangi, was shot dead in judicial custody, allegedly by another jailed mafioso Sunil Rathi on Monday morning at Baghpat District Jail.

Incidentally, 10 days ago, Bajrangi's wife Seema Singh had held a press conference in Lucknow, alleging that a conspiracy was being hatched by political leaders and the STF to eliminate her husband in an encounter or poison him in jail. She had urged the CM to provide him with extra security and pleaded that in light of the threat, his cases be heard via video-conferencing.

"My pleas were ignored. My husband became victim of a political conspiracy. How can someone spray him with bullets inside the jail without political support and jail administration," asked Seema.

"Though he was a mafia don, it is a serious matter that the murder took place in the jail. We will initiate strict against those responsible after the inquiry," said Adityanath. The CM has ordered a judicial probe and suspension of four jail staff, including jailor Udai Pratap Singh.
