The war of words between Chetan Bhagat and Ira Trivedi continues. A week after Bhagat sent screenshots of an email written to him by Trivedi, with the ending ‘miss you, kiss you’, the celebrity author and yoga trainer wrote a piece in The Quint, claiming that Bhagat had edited the entire email thread to make people read only what he wanted them to see.

"Bhagat lied on Twitter to his 12.3 million followers. He accused me of wanting to kiss him. By this one tweet, he has maligned me, shamed me and harassed me further," Trivedi wrote in the article.

Trivedi also shared another part of the email where Bhagat is seen writing, "miss u...aww thanks. kiss you hmm...really. Figure of speech or something changing around here? (sic)"

Trivedi says she responded to that mail that addressed other topics, but dodged the question on the kiss.

To which Bhagat repled with a detailed mail, concluding that she had doged the k (sic) question.

"I have used many salutations to end messages. These include “xoxo, x, love, love u, miss u”, emojis and many more including “miss u kiss u.”’ It is a figure of speech," Trivedi wrote in her article.

Continuing to lash out at Bhagat, Trivedi wrote, "Yes Mr Bhagat, I dodged your ‘k’ question, like I dodged your kiss, like I dodged your many passes, like I dodged your bad behaviour.I met this man once a year, I thought it is best to ignore him and move on. However, his lies do not end here."

On October 15, Bhagat, in a series of tweets, has responded to the ‘fake’ sexual assault allegations by author Ira Trivedi.

To defend himself, the 44-year-old shared a screenshot of a 'self-explanatory' mail which apparently Trivedi sent to him in 2013. ‘So who wanted to kiss whom’’, wrote Bhagat, adding, ‘@iratrivedi’s self-explanatory email from 2013 to me, especially last line, easily shows her claims from 2010 are false, and she knows this too. This mental harassment of me and my family has to stop. Please don’t harm a movement with #fakecharges #harassed’

The author also shared a video of an event - which according to him, took place in 2015-106 - in which Trivedi had called Bhagat to launch her book. He wrote alongside, ‘Who calls their harasser as chief guest for their book launch’’

Bhagat further urged people to not ‘support this kind of smear campaign’ and to not ‘believe such nonsense’.
In the ongoing #MeToo movement, writer Ira Trivedi, on October 13, had detailed her experience of being sexually harassed by Chetan Bhagat and Suhel Seth.
