Anupam Kher who has been in the eye of controversy ever since he was awarded the Padma Bhushan has now locked horns with erudite Congress leader and MP Shashi Tharoor.
The veteran Bollywood actor said in a TV interview with a private channel that he was scared of openly proclaiming that he is a Hindu these days. Kher who rejects all allegations of being involved with BJP and says that he only supports nationalistic cause was called out by Shashi Tharoor for his comment. Tharoor tweeted, "Come on Anupam. I say it all the time. I'm a proud Hindu. Just not the Sangh's kind of Hindu. @AnupamPkher."
Kher rebutted strongly tweeting, "Come on Shashi. Never thought you will misinterpret my statement like trolls do. And behave like a Congi Chamcha." However, Tharoor with his quick wit did not let go of this insult. He said that he was a proud MP of the Congress and didn't believe in resorting to insults. The Congress MP also reminded Kher that people normally used abuses when they ran out of arguments. Kher though tried to stick to his point saying,
Sadly, you forgot that you brought in your Kind of Hindu & Sanghi Hindu first. You want to categorize that also? https://t.co/I1aBObn5BY

This is how the entire war of words played out on Twitter.
. Abuse, @AnupamPkher , is what you use when you run out of arguments. I'm a proud MP of @INCIndia &I don't resort to insults. #CongiChamcha
