The Delhi BJP taunted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, saying his three-day ultimatum to the Centre over demonetization has "fizzled out" even before taking off.On November 17, Kejriwal had said,"The government must roll back the demonetization decision in three days. Otherwise there will be revolt." Satish Upadhyay, BJP's Delhi chief, claimed the traders of the city have rejected the AAP's "strike call" over the issue.
"The AAP's trade wing tried to mobilise traders and disrupt business. But their provocations have been emphatically rejected by people. Kejriwal should quit or call fresh polls," Upadhyay told a press conference.
AAP termed it as baseless, saying it never backed any bandh.

AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai tweeted, "AAP, CPI(M), TMC, JD(U), Congress, none of the opposition parties have given call for a Bharat Bandh, I wonder who's given the call? RSS??". Starting December 1, Kejriwal will address a series of rallies across India, including one in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Lok Sabha constituency Varanasi, taking his fight against demonetization to the masses.

Terming as "flop show" the nationwide strike and protest calls given by opposition parties today, BJP said people have rejected both as they have no faith in "tainted" parties behind them. "People have rejected those who support black money and corruption and appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against black money and corruption. The leaders behind the calls for 'Bharat Bandh' and 'Jan Aakrosh Diwas' are tainted and have been rejected by people," BJP National Secretary Shrikant Sharma said.

The Congress President and the vice president are involved in the National Herald case and out on bail, he said and alleged that the Saradha scam had tainted TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

The Samajwadi Party is running its government in Uttar Pradesh with the support of land and mining mafias, while BSP chief Mayawati is accused of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam, he alleged, targeting opposition parties behind the 'Jan Aakrosh Diwas' call. Attacking Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, he said his party's MLAs are accused of various crimes and added it appears that the black money he had kept has gone waste with demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes. "Any call given by such leaders was bound to flop. BJP expresses its thanks to people for rejecting these parties," Sharma said.
