Pakistani cricket legend Shahid Afridi's anti-India remark has snowballed into a major controversy. A day after Afridi's tweet, where he had said that the situation in 'India occupied Kashmir' is appalling and worrisome, many Indian celebrities have slammed him.

Responding to the Afridi's tweet, Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar said that if he is that worried about any human rights violations in Kashmir, he should first ensure that Pakistani terrorists stop infiltrations and also the Pakistani Army stops supporting the separatists by closing down the training camps.

The noted lyricist and social activist's comment comes after cricketer Gautam Gambhir's brutal takedown. Gambhir who will lead Delhi Daredevils in the IPL season this year also took to Twitter and said that the United Nations in Afridi's retarded dictionary meant 'UNDER NINEETEEN.' He also asked the media to relax as Shahid Afridi is celebrating a dismissal of a no-ball!

Madhur Bhandarkar, the Bollywood filmmaker, also retorted to Afridi's tweet. He asked Shahid Afridi not to fall for bogus propaganda. The Indian Authorities are managing their responsibilities well, Pakistan needs to stop their interference and terrorist activities. He also added that international agencies have already condemned Pakistan for its terror supporting role.

However, the Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli in a statement to a news agency said that As an Indian, you want to express what is best for your nation & my interests are always for the benefit of our nation. If anything opposes it, I would never support it for sure. But having said that, it's a very personal choice for someone to comment on certain issues. Unless I have total knowledge of the issues & the intricacies of it I don't engage in it but definitely, your priority stays with your nation."

Suresh Raina also hit back at Afridi and said that Kashmir is an integral part of India and would remain so. 'Kashmir is an integral part of India and will remain so always. Kashmir is the pious land where my forefathers were born. I hope @SAfridiOfficial bhai asks Pakistan Army to stop terrorism and proxy war in our Kashmir. We want peace, not bloodshed and violence,' he said on Twitter.

Mohammed Kaif also took to Twitter and slams Shahid Afridi over his tweet. Here is what he said,

Meanwhile, at least 12 terrorists were killed in simultaneous joint operations by the Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday. One of the terrorists killed belonged to Lashkar-e-Taiba and the six of them belonged to the Hizbul Mujahideen.

Shahid Afridi one Pakistani cricketer who enjoys a lot of fan following from Indian also had to face their wrath on Twitter. Over a month ago only he had managed to turn the spotlight on him and won Indian hearts when he asked an Indian fan to hold the Indian flag right before taking a photo in Switzerland.
